Come to the National Museum of American History on May 20, 2017 for an invention showcase that features leading-edge military inventions that will impact your daily life in the future. Invention Day will feature breakthrough technologies from the armed forces, the Department of Defense, universities, and independent inventors alongside historical military inventions from the museum’s world-class collections.
Starting at noon, a series of brief talks will showcase the stories behind important inventions, convey the importance of technology to military strategy, and explore the changing relationship between military research and commercial markets.
An initiative of the Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation, Invention Day 2017 will feature breakthroughs in prosthetics, robots, night vision, mapping, portable energy, body armor, and emergency medicine, among others.
