Summary
Legal and patent records of the International Harvester Company composed of court briefs, opinions, and exhibits, 1907-1911, concerning several patent suits, plus many legal volumes of records from hearings and proceedings, 1912-1922, concerning the federal government’s anti-trust suit against the company. These include also a history of the litigation, and a catalog of volumes relating to the International Harvester Company vs. the United States in anti-trust suits. Additions, 1907-1947, consisting of bound volumes of legal briefs, transcripts of hearings, and reports produced for anti-trust and political corruption cases involving IHC. Includes cases heard before the U.S. Senate, Supreme Court, District Court (Minnesota), House of Representatives, and the Supreme Court of Missouri. Prominent subjects include alleged corruption in the election of Illinois Senator William Lorimer; the Farm Machinery Trade Association; the Townsend report; the "Ouster" case in Kansas and Missouri; Standard Oil and Tobacco; international steel cartels; the manufacture and distribution of farm implements; and monopolies in the agricultural equipment industry.
