Letters of David Dick, an inventor of Meadville, Pennsylvania. Dick’s first venture involved the Steamboat Allegheny, the first sternwheel boat on the Allegheny River. He later developed the anti-friction press and held patents on a proto-internal combustion engine he called an aerostatic engine. The letters contain personal matters, inventions, and mechanics.
