Papers of Nathaniel Marsh Edwards of Appleton, Wisconsin, a captain in the Tenth Army Corps of the Union Army who had a significant role in the construction of the Swamp Angel, a system that allowed a cannon to be fired from the swamps during the Seige of Charleston; including papers of inventor General Edward W. Serrell, maps, a blueprint of the Swamp Angel, newspaper clippings, military records, and photographs.
