Summary

Physician, inventor of marine appliances, school board member, and civic leader, of Easthampton, Mass.; b. in Marion, Mass., later moved to New Bedford where worked as a ship chandler and later owned a marine salvage company; attended University of Virginia School of Medicine (1895-1897), returning to Southampton, Mass., for two years, before moving to Easthampton. Typescripts, biographical materials, clippings, articles, and other materials, reflecting Cobb's life and career. Includes autobiographical work entitled "Rose Cottage" and article "The Mystery of the Mary Celeste", relating to the disappearance of the crew of a brig while at sea.
