Collection relates primarily to how Bell's invention of telephone (1876) has affected society, the industry it spawned, and the history of communication in the U.S. Includes original, non-published manuscripts; business records; photographs; serials; reference material; directories; oral histories; scrapbooks; ephemera; and other paper, digital and audio/video materials. The collection is primarily comprised of documents from the Northwester, Pacific Northwest and Mountain Bell Telephone Companies. It also contains labor/union materials, and personal histories/materials from people who worked in the industry.
