Summary

A typewritten copy of a letter, October 3, 1894, from inventor and mechanic Don Carlos Turner to his nephews Harvey Turner, Guy Mills, Ross Hoyne, and Dean Carroll Turner Jensen, relating the story of a steamboat he built in Madison, Wis. in 1854. Also included are typewritten excerpts of letters, 1934, from Carrie Turner Jensen to Joseph Schafer providing additional information on Turner and his family, and eight index cards listing Turner's numerous inventions and their patent numbers.
