Elihu Thomson was born in 1853 and came to the United States in 1888 from England. Thomson teamed up with Edwin Houston and experimented in arc-lighting and centrifugal force. The pair made several inventions and improvements in both fields. Thomson also patented an electrical welding process. The collection contains Thomson Electric Welding News Bulletins, printed information on welding machine, photographs and clipping.
