Summary
Glenn Curtiss is an aviation pioneer and inventor who founded the Curtiss Aeroplane and Motor Company. Curtiss was a bicycle repairman and designer and in 1902 began to manufacture motorcycyles using a lightweight internal combustion engine of his own design. Curtiss would later found Curtiss Manufacturing Company. In 1907, Curtiss founded the Aeronautical Experimental Association and in 1909, he joined with Augustus M. Herring to form g-Curtiss Company to manufacture powered vehicles. Collection consists of doucments and memorabilia relating to Curtiss and to patent suits--Wright v. Curtiss, Herring v. Curtiss, and Curtiss v. Janin.
