Summary
Electrical engineer, inventor and entrepreneur, Rabinow was born in Ukraine (1910), emigrated to U.S. ca. 1920, and graduated in electrical engineering from City College of N.Y. In 1938 he joined National Bureau of Standards where he was employed until 1954, when he formed his own company, RABCO, which later became part of Control Data Corp. Rabinow became an independent consultant. Material from three areas of Rabinow's work: phonograph record players, optical character recognition (reading machines) and automatic self-regulation of watches and clocks. Includes technical descriptions, engineering drawings, patents, photographs of devices and voluminous corespondence.
