Kristen Sheldon joined Spark!Lab as a Floor Manager in August 2022. Some of her core work values are flexibility, communication, transparency, streamlining, and organization, all with the goal of providing a high-quality visitor experience.
Before coming to Spark!Lab, Kristen was the Volunteer and Intern Manager at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC, for nine years. She has also worked as a Visitor Assistant at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian, a tour guide at the US Capitol, and at the Phillips Collection and Fort Ward in Alexandria. She is an alumni of the George Washington University’s Museum Education Master’s program, and earned her BA in English Literature and Studio Art at the State University of New York, College at Geneseo.
A native of Hamburg, NY, a suburb of Buffalo, Kristen now calls Alexandria, VA, home. When she’s not working, she enjoys growing plants (especially African violets), playing with her cat Indigo and dog Ginger Snap, swimming, photography, arts and crafts, and playing video games. She is also a certified National Weather Service Storm Spotter!
