Collection concerns a patent dispute between the S. S. White Dental Manufacturing Company and the Williams Typewriter Company concerning the manufacture and sale by White of typewriters on behalf of Brooks Typewriter Company. Williams produced a similar machine which Brooks claimed infringed on his patents. Primarily correspondence between S. S. White Company and Byron A. Brooks or Joseph I. Peyton, Washington (D.C.) patent attorney; also notes and memoranda about case; incorporation certificates for Brooks and Union companies, credit reports, balance sheets.
