Summary
Wawa Inc., the Delaware Valley’s largest chain of convenience stores, was formed in 1968 through the merger of two antecedant family businesses, the Millville Manufacturing Company and Wawa Dairy Farms. The records are an historical collection assembled by members of the Wood Family and Wawa Inc., to document the family’s business activities through publication and displays. The David C. Woods Papers (Series I), are primarily concerned with the Millville Furnance and the manufacture of stoves, water pipe, and other castings. Also includes letter books, loose correspondence, and records of suits brought against Wood by his former partner, Edward Smith and suits over the rights to stove patterns and a patented bellows.
